This notice covers the ChatGPT plugin “StayinDE Study Budget”. Last updated 8 October 2026.

What the plugin receives

When you or ChatGPT use the board, ChatGPT sends our server the budget answers needed to calculate it: study city, length of stay, age band, housing, and your habits (meals, coffee, insurance type, phone plan, gym, clothes, self-care, going out, subscriptions, travel, flights home), plus optional rent, flight price, scholarship, part-time hours and the language code for the board. We ask for no name, e-mail, account or payment data. ChatGPT may attach technical metadata (such as an anonymised user or conversation identifier, locale or approximate location); our server does not use or store it.

What we do with it

We calculate the board and send it back. Nothing is written to a database, there are no accounts, no cookies and no advertising, and the board contains no tracking. Our host, Vercel Inc., keeps short-lived server logs (time, path, IP address) for operation and security. Legal bases: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for providing the board you asked for, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for keeping the service secure.

While the board is open it shares your current numbers with ChatGPT as conversation context, so ChatGPT can answer questions about them. That context is handled by OpenAI under its own privacy policy.

Processors and transfers

Vercel Inc. (USA) hosts the server under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and the right to complain to a supervisory authority, for example the Sächsische Datenschutz- und Transparenzbeauftragte. Because we store no budget data, there is usually nothing about you that we hold; write to us and we will check.

Age

The plugin is meant for people aged 13 and older and is not directed at children.
